Hi, I’m Amy Cook
I spent a lot of time in my childhood traveling through the different states. My family usually traveled by van and spent the night camping. How I loved falling asleep to the sound of the waves lapping at the shore, the river rushing by or hearing the wildlife at night. I especially loved it when my siblings and I ran into a meadow accidentally. There would be beautifully colored flowers surrounded by brush, sage, and maybe a few trees. These simple times remain some of my fondest memories.
Behind the Name…
When naming the company, I sought a name that resonated with these special memories. Hence, I chose "Desert Meadows Skincare," symbolizing the transformation from troubled skin (like a desert) to the beauty of blooming meadows. Our mission is to provide quality, healthy skincare that nourishes and rejuvenates everyone’s skin - the name captures this.
Why Lotion?
What bothered me most about traditional lotions was their overpowering synthetic fragrances. Don’t get me wrong, I love the scent of flowers - but I dislike the chemicals used to create them. So, I embarked on a mission to craft lotions devoid of synthetics, chemicals, or heavy fragrances, with the aim of promoting soft and healthy skin.
Dealing with sensitive skin has been a lifelong challenge, yet I always struggled to find high-quality lotion free from harmful ingredients.
